The Bridgeport-Stamford-Norwalk Metropolitan Statistical area is ranked in the bottom five in the nation in the real value of $100, according to a new study from the Tax Foundation.
The study looked at how far a $100 dollars went in 380 areas throughout the United States, where data is available.


In the Bridgeport-Stamford-Norwalk area $100 is only worth $82.31. The area was the fourth lowest in

the entire nation, only beyond Honolulu ($81.37), New York-Newark-Jersey City ($81.83) and San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara ($82.31).


Even the San Francisco-Oakland-Hayward ($82.44) area came in fifth after Bridgeport-Stamford-Norwalk.
Breaking down the four Connecticut regions, money went further in non-metro areas.


Non-Metro Conn. – 99.30
Hartford-West Hartford-East Hartford – 99.11
Norwich-New London – 98.72
New Haven-Milford – 88.11


Those looking for the most bang for their $100 bill should move to Danville, Ill., where the money increased to to $125.94.
