Has anyone had any experience with either the Hawthorne at Gillette Ridge or The 600 Apartments located in West Hartford? Any information regarding location, experiences, quality, good or bad would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much...

I know they are located near the University of Hartford... Anyone know the area or these places in particular? Thanks

These are both in Bloomfield, not West Hartford. We live at the Hawthorne. We think it's excellent - both the apartments and the location, although it's pricey. Service is very good. The only problem is the minority of residents who refuse to pick up after their dogs.

The 600 is much older and is a gated apartment community. I have a good impression of it, but have never been in there.

Thank you so much for responding. Not happy to hear about the dog situation. Do you hear a lot of dogs barking too or is it just that the owners don't pick up after them? Just wondering. We are scheduled to look at both places along with some others this weekend so I hope it turns out well. Thanks

No, dogs barking is not a problem, at least not for us. There are designated areas for the dogs to use, so if you don't have a dog, that's not an issue at all. We really like it here.

That's great. I'm so happy to hear positive feedback about it. Once we take a look I may have some more questions... Thanks again
