I've been comparing JFK to Bradley and it looks like JFK just has more direct flights for me to fly to Nashville.

I live in Avon and I looked into those airport limos but they wanted $150 one way from here!
Anyone ever fly out of JFK from CT? Where do you park your car? If I park in the Stamford lot, is there a train that goes to JFK?
Any info is appreciated.

There is no direct rail line from Stamford to JFK. I believe you would have to get a train into New York, switch to a Queens subway and then switch to the JFK train. Not easy if you have a lot of luggage. Have you checked into flights from Westchester or Stewart in Newburgh NY. They are a bit closer than JFK and offer some good deals. Jay

ugh forget that then. We will have luggage so that won't work. I didn't look into westchester or Newburgh. I'll check them out.
It's just frustrating because JKF and LaGuardia have a much better selection of flights but it just seems like such a hassle to get to either one. I may just end up doing Bradley and taking what they have.

Bradley is so convenient. We almost always go out of it. Driving to New York or Boston is just not worth it IMHO, Jay

I would definitely look into Westchester along with Bradley. JFK is horrible to get to because it's Queens and cramped with traffic. Even AirTran doesn't have a direct from NYC to JFK, you have to get it at either Jamaica or Howard Beach stations.

Can't you fly BDL(Bradley)-BNA(Nashville) via Southwest? Southwest even has a daily nonstop between the two cities, and a number of other flights stopping in BWI. Duration would still be a lot shorter than added travel and hassle to JFK.

You live in Avon and want to fly out of JFK for flight to BWI that Southwest flys non stop from BDL?

I think you need to rethink that one!

The non stop flight is just over 2 hours. And there are 1 stop flights less than 4 hours.

It will take you over 3 hours just go get to JFK.

Just to add to this... Southwest a nonstop weekdays at 6:45 AM, a thorough (stops, but you stay on the plane) flight at 7:45 and connections through BWI through out the day. This will be a much better and likely less expensive option for you then going out of LaGuardia or Kennedy.

I fly weekly-- sometimes twice-- and have always had a good experience with Southwest. As I write this I am waiting for a very late (almost 2 hours now) United flight to La Guardia...

I will definitely be flying out of Bradley and probably on Southwest. My aunt has a voucher for Continental and was giving it to us to use. But I didn't realize that it's such a hassle getting down there. So I take it's just New Yorkers flying out of there huh?
I hate flying so it has to be a direct flight for me and JFK just had so many more options. But man, what a PITA trying to get there, lol. No thanks.

If you have a Continental voucher, Newark would have been a much better option for flights to Nashville.

Newark is actually rather easy to get to. You could take Amtrak non stop to the airport station from Hartford, but I believe there is only 1 through train or else you need to make a connection in New Haven.

Also, a RT ticket from Hartford to Newark airport could easily cost $90 or more and takes 2.5 hours each way.
