It again depends what you like. West Hartford is more upscale while Middletown is more bohemium. West Hartford Center is one of the best in the state with some of the finest restaurants. Middletown has Wesleyan so there is a bit of a college town atmosphere. It is really a matter of personal preference. Jay
Ok so I have pretty much narrowed it down to just West Hartford, does any one know any websites with apartment listings in the area besides craigslist or know any realtors? Thanks!

Also check Realtor.com. I would recommend Amy Bergquist who sometimes posts here. She helped with some issues recently and I was very pleased. Good luck, Jay
Some of the sites a looked at for apartments were Forrent.com, apartments.com, apartmentguide.com, and apartmenthomeliving.com. There's also apartmentratings.
I IMO, the options in and around Rocky Hill/Middletown don't begin to compare to the nightlife, cuisine, cultural events, etc. in New Haven. And other than Blue Back Square in West Hartford (which gets old quick), there isn't much around that area either. Everything in Hartford shuts down after work.
LOL What!? When was the last time you've been around here...me thinks a long time by that statement. Hartford and West Hartford does NOT shut down after work. Not at all. Sorry, I disagree. Same for Middletown.
thank you everybody for replying. my girlfriend and I drove to West Hartford the other day and absolutely loved it. We have decided to focus our efforts in finding an apartment close to the center. If anyone knows of any nice listings around the area please let me know! Its tough to find a nice place!
