Camcorder? My father bought one of the early betas in the early 80's.......to date I still don't own one
Cassette player? 1970s
CD player? 1990s
MP3/digital audio player? dedicated...never bought one have the ability to play MP3 via iPhone
VCR? early 1980s
LaserDisc player? never, skipped that fad
DVD player? 2005 ish
DVR? see above, it was a combined unit
Blu-Ray? not yet, may skip it like I skipped laserdisk

Shortwave radio? 1990s for portable shortwave radio. We had old tube ones that dated back to he 1940s I remember listening to as a child. Wish my father had hung on to them.
Police Scanner? 1970s, need to update/upgrade, use app. currently on iPhone
Cell phone? bag phone early 1980s
High definition TV? not yet since 25 yr. old Mitsubishi TVs still work
Strobe light? never, though I have a flashlight app that includes strobing.

Camcorder? mid-80's? It was just a camera, it had to be connected it to our VCR (the VCR was in two pieces, one piece could be split and be made portable for the camera).
Cassette player? no clue - had always remembered them laying around. Either the cheap portable ones, or the nice ones with the Pioneer system my parents had.
CD player? mid-80s.... part of a boom box actually.
MP3/digital audio player? We were playing them on the computer in the early-mid 90s. But the first actual portable player was a iPod nano that I won at a golf tournament.
VCR? early 80s
LaserDisc player? early 80's.... I recall two formats. The one's in the early 80's came in a case/cartridge - you fed the entire cartridge into the machine. I think my parents had like two movies/concernts with that. It came back again in the early 90's... and those looked like LP sized CD/DVDs.... mom got it specifically for Karaoke.
DVD player? Early 90's? The laserdisc player actually played DVDs. Not sure if that was the first....
DVR? Never actually had one.

GPS? 1999 - in my 2000 Acura TL

Cell phone? mid 90s. A sprint PCS.... Sanyo I believe. Bigger than my current cordless at home.
High definition TV? ~2000... sony rear projection TV. Could support 1080i via component.... althought I don't think it was ever connected.
CAMCORDER: My parents bought one in the mid 90s. It was a hand held Sony with the mini cassette that required an adapter to play in a VCR.
CASSETTE PLAYER: Other than in cars, I remember having one when I was a kid (late 80s early 90's) to listen to bed time stories/ music. My parents also had an all in one stereo with a record player, cassette player/ recorder, 8-track, AM/FM.
CD PLAYER: Late 90s maybe. We bought my mom a Sony stereo with CD and cassette. I got a boom box a few years later with one, and a Sony portable CD player
MPC/DIGITAL AUDIO PLAYER: I don't think any one in my family has one other than a few songs/ videos on their cell phones
VCR? First VCR was in the late 80s

Cell phone? My dad got one around 2000, back when Nex-tel two way phones were big. Then when I started really driving and working later hours my mother and I got some bone basic Alltell phones.
High definition TV? with in the past 5 years, a Mitsubishi projection T.V., I think like 57''-60"
