Hi.
After reading threads & links from this forum,
I have narrowed my tv choices to 3
Models & 2 online vendors.

LG 50pn6500 plasma $600 @ amazon & hhgregg
Vizio e 470 (led) from amazon $500
Samsung pn51f4500 $600 from amazon
Or $500 from hhgregg BUT "they are all out of
Them in my area" supposed to include a blue
Ray player as well.

I have never ordered anything from hhgregg- the
Prices are the same as amazon except this last one.
It doesn't exactly say out if stock. Just in my area.
Anyone know why that would be?

Suggestions on extended warranties? Buy from
Hhgregg or the standard co from amazon. I have
Never done this, I just assume w/a TV & shipping
It's needed.

Any ideas?
Basically I want the basic good tv - it doesn't have to be smart
Or 3d.

Thanks

Look at Costco. They offer a 2 year warranty to start, then a $49 extended for 3 more years. For those over 46" they come to your house to repair. They may not have all 3 of those choices but they only sell the best quality brands. We got the Panasonic 50" LED for $525 and have been really happy with it.

Local it really comes down to person taste I think. You're going to get different responses from different people. All I'd say is that if you're going to put the TV in a well lit room with lots of windows, I probably wouldn't get a Plasma.

Thanks. There are mirrors (decorative)
On a wall - the whole wall - so it should be bright even w/little light.

Default Local Costco & Costco online out

Hi
Went to Costco today - they were out of all types
Of models I was interested in. Costco online as well.
When really looking @ sets (w/tired eyes today)
The plasma looked more relaxing.
Had a great salesperson who said weren't
Getting any in soon.

I am planning a move in 2 weeks. Was going to try
& set up to be ready for cox technician.
Now I realize if something was wrong w/TV I
Wouldn't be able to tell if it was cable or tv -
And they certainly won't set it up.

@ Costco they were selling a concierge service
For $89 to come over & install.

I know most people here do it themselves.
Do you think a non-techie can do it ?
If so, I can wait for my new destination,
Set up the old tv & buy @ new place. But
My helpers wouldn't be there - on my own.

I do like their return policy though - and the less
Expensive warranty!

I'd buy the Vizio and install it myself. What you are using it for is not complicated.

Thanks. Actually found a smart Vizio on
Amazon for $618. Was going to forgo the
Smart tv & go w/roku but Labor Day sales are
Good - definitely don't need to spend $1000

Read reviews of the vizio line. Poor remote
Key size, some prob w/ sound (maybe all led)
Slight issue w/picture but it seems that "regular"
People are really satisfied w/that brand.
It's not LG or Samsung but much less, even
W/sales.

Called cox. They said as long as they don't have to
Unpack & move it (liability reasons) it shouldn't be
A problem for a simple tv minus sound theatre, etc
