I last got a SONY DE-185 distribution unit to replace my other one that had a couple things come loose on the board... (I might be able to still fix it (Or have it fixed rather (I dont know how to sodder stuff)))
Its a 100 watt 2 channel ANALOG unit (Sonys last ONLY ANALOG unit - Made in 2002)
I have my cassette deck,8 track player and VCR hooked up to it.. (Plus its got an AM/FM tuner (With a MONO switch for FM which is nice))
New = garbage, right dude? Made in the 21st century = garbage?
I want to come to your house, bro. Seriously. Probably like walking through a museum.
Do you actually have 8 track tapes?
I recently got a used Oppo 95 which is pretty new, about 4 or so years old.
But I've got some older stuff too, like my Dynaco Mark iiis, a Dynaco Pas 2 preamp, an old Marantz cassette deck, a Fisher 400, a pair of Kenwood L09ms, a pair of Kenwood L07Ms, and an 07 preamp.
I have speakers older than y'all and it all sounds pretty awesome.
NOS tubes to go in my tube gear have made a huge difference.
Oppos are a nice source especially the 103s and 105s because they play all the audio formats.
24 bit/192khz is very cool, especially when played on 1962 mono tube amps.
I used to like gadgets like that but found I never used them, so I stopped buying them.
But I use this thing literally EVERY SINGLE DAY.
It's in the master bath. Stream podcasts, listen to music, and serves as the audio if I want to stream Netflix in the bath or whatever.
Also is waterproof and is loud enough to be worthwhile poolside.
I replaced a Sony with a Onkyo TX-NR626 A/V receiver. Connected is surround sound speakers,TV for Arc, DISH receiver, DVD-R/VCR combo, phonograph player, cassette recorder [but record not connected so only a player]

I still have an Onkyo receiver that I love. TX-28, hooked to an old Audio Reflex EQ-1 equalizer. Still works well with headphones, but has a futzy sound in the left speaker. I need to figure how to fix that.
