I feel stupid, I have 2 Cd discmans a Trutech and another brand (I don't remember the brand, it's similar to Trutech)

Both when i play them the sound on the unit cuts off if they're picked up and held at an angle. they only play good when they're level

I noticed Target is selling SONY CD discmans. On the package there is some kind of G device or something which is an anti-skip mechanism. Do my 2 current discmans skip because i bought them without this device? is there anything I can do to remedy the problem?

No. Pivoting the device increases the omnipresent 'wow and flutter'.
Think of it like a turntable , how the record has a tendency to wobble while it spins.
The wobble is called wow and flutter. Any tilt of the table will exacerbate this condition. The same goes for CD players. This , in concert with lack of ESP on the device , is causing your issue.
