Somewhere on this forum I read that CC is getting two new supercenters. Can anyone tell me the locations??? Closest to our new house is Everhart/SPID and it's pretty ghetto....

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. plans to open two stores in Corpus Christi, one on the city's Southside at Saratoga and Cimarron boulevards and the other at Parkdale Plaza on Staples Street. The stores could open in fall 2011, company spokeswoman Kellie Duhr said in an e-mail.

That would be nice, as one of them will be within walking distance from my apartment. I haven't been to Wal-Mart in years. I hate the one on Greenwood, and the one in Calallen is a bit far.

I'm not a big WalMart fan, but I'll be happy to see HEB have some competition and anything will be better than the deteriorated Parkdale Plaza site.

That lot is so big that they could do some real landscaping there. I wish they'd put a 20 or 30-foot greenspace between the street and the parking lot, but they probably won't.
