I've been looking into them for a few years and have pretty much decided to go with Regent. If Windstar deploys one of their "new" ships there, I'll probably choose them instead.

I cruised with Seabourn from Auckland to Sydney in January. The cruise was 16 days and made multiple stops in New Zealand as well as two stops in Australia. We went right down the east coast of New Zealand to Oban on Stuart Island and then up to Milford Sound on the West coast.

The cruise was fantastic. Seabourn is a high end cruise line and all inclusive. So just being on the ship was great. The itinerary was excellent and we really got to see a lot of different places in New Zealand in a fairly short period of time. We also stopped in Melbourne and Geelong both of which were great. Disembarking in Sydney, we then spent a week in Australia.

However, were I to go back to New Zealand, I would not do a cruise. In my view, the best way to see New Zealand is to rent a car or an RV and do a driving vacation. It is a big country and there is a ton to see.
