Every major religion should be investigated for fraud as far as I'm concerned. Worshipping some long dead ancients who performed miracles is just as believable as this woman
Whats interesting is that she was more than just a TV show. She took her gift on the road, and that was her eventual undoing. Its also funny that people associate her with predicting the future, something she never did to my knowledge. but then I cant say i'm a follower. Her only gift was being able to connect with the dead, as mediums do. If you want to see into the future, you need to shell out for a large.

OK so it might be entertaining TV for some but what slays me is people who actually spend money and sometimes a whole lot of money on garbage like this. As P.T. Barnum said "There's a sucker born every minute"

I agree. I've always said that religion is the biggest successful scam of all time.

I am astounded that so many otherwise rational and educated people seem to still believe this crap...or claim to. With all of the knowledge and science that we have accumulated in the modern age I fail to see how any reasonably intelligent and educated individual cannot grok how the fairy stories of ignorant ancient peoples are no more than that. I can see how people on the lower end of the IQ scale, who have neither the education or the ability to comprehend it could be taken in, but otherwise...they must know on some level that it isn't true. Is it wishful thinking that compels them to profess belief contrary to logic and reason? Or do they perpetuate it with full knowledge that it is fraud?

Actually, Barnum didn't say it. David Hannum did, in reference to Barnum after Barnum copied Hannum's "Cardiff Giant" and claimed that he had the real one and Hannum's was a fake. When Hannum sued Barnum for calling is 'Giant' a fake, the original perpetrator of the fraud (who sold it to Hannum) fessed up and the suit was thrown out, because it *was*, in fact, a fake.

Even though I was raised as a Christian, once you start exposing others beliefs as fictional you end up having to take a look at what their chosen religion and yours have in common: They commonly share: super natural characters, charismatic leaders, Attacks against non-believers, common repetitive prayers, peer pressure and lack of scientific proof (Faith).

Sure, but I could say the same about golf,m and its not even entertaining TV. One mans garbage is another mans treasure.
We all know it's fake, what's shocking is that someone would actually waste their time to discredit a medium... Seems a bit silly and most certainly a waste of time.
True -- it seems to me like it's nothing more than entertainment. There's one here who has a sign up where to call to make appointments -- obviously if she was legit, she wouldn't need them to call to make appointments.
