Another example how little the US government cares about their citizens. The greed and stupidity is endless. Massive taxes, massive violations of our Constitution especially the 4th and 1st Amendment. The destruction of our moral values, the destruction of our religion. What else?

OMG traitors to your own country of birth-- looney tunes,,, BUT some move to other countries and maybe parents original home etc and must choose. Many are dual citizens.

No such thing as "our religion." You are free to worship whatever you choose. or not worship if you don't want to. Many people in other countries would love to say that.
3,415 is a tiny number in comparison to the United States population and this is not really newsworthy. With all the President Obama haters here are I'm actually surprised the number is that small.

A couple of noteworthy items: many are not natural born U.S. citizens, and they've already been living abroad and have to comply with onerous U.S. global tax-reporting laws.
I didn't want to take a survey to read the linked article, so I found another one which focused on the tax issue. As far as the constitutional issues, again, there's no mass exodus of natural born citizens thinking there's something better out there. Don't make me laugh.
There's an increase of well-to-do naturalized citizens denouncing citizenship for tax purposes and to return to their families, but even that does not reflect a massive number of expatriates.

In 2013 the US population was 316,497,531. The percentage of people renouncing their citizenship was .00000948 percent.
In 2014 the US population was 318,857,056. The percentage of people renouncing their citizenship was .00000107 percent.
So actually FEWER people per capita renounced their citizenship. WOOHOOO!

Good for them. I hope they find success and happiness. I think the United States cares enough to let them go. Are you planning to join them?

It actually increased a little.
Not sure what the process is for renouncing USA citizenship, but I believe that the cost is about $3000. Not sure how much that dissuades people from going through with it. It is, of course, peanuts for the ones who have much to lose by remaining USA citizens. Once people begin to realize how draconian the new snooping powers are, I'm certain this number will skyrocket...

3415?
You know, that's 1 person out of every 94,000 Americans. Or, 1/10th of 1% of 1% of the population. The United States adds 1 person net (births minus deaths) every 14 seconds. Or, to put it another way, the number of annual citizenship renouncers are replaced in about 13 hours. And that's just natural increase - in 2013, 779,000+ people became naturalized citizens. So the ratio of people eager to become citizens to those eager to become non-citizens is about 228 to 1.
At least you've moved on from whining about the fact that the government is discriminating less and less against gays - and it's hilarious that you've transition to whining about the government not treating people the way they deserve. I suspect the irony in that is completely lost on you.
My country isn't perfect, but it's better than it's ever been as far as I'm concerned. Too steps forward, one stap back, and all that. I'm sorry to hear you hate it here so much.
Can we all count on your renouncing your citizenship and leaving in the near future?
