Irrelevant and illogical posts don't go anywhere.

Pressing charges though? Not sure on what basis. Just an obnoxious woman having her say.
It's a criminal offence under British law to physically or verbally abuse someone because of their religious beliefs: Citizens Advice - Discrimination because of religion or belief

The family has every right to complain and should. All bullies like the one abusing them on the tube need to be brought before the courts. I don't know what the punishment will be; probably just a fine, but once she has a criminal record, it'll be easier to send her to jail the next time she tries something similar.

Hmmm... I don't know why I assumed the incident took place in London.

Anyway, Australia has similar laws which would suffice to file a complaint under by the looks of it: https://www.humanrights.gov.au/guide...imination-laws

There are also hate speech laws: Hate speech laws in Australia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dispicable treatment by the woman, but the fact that the family can press charges for this is what is truly insane. Thank goodness that I live in these United States of America! People like to boast about Europe and Australia, but I would never want to live in places where freedom isn't valued very much (Australia and European countries as a general rule place severe restrictions on speech and other freedoms we take for granted here).

Good lord a lot of you people are sheltered and paranoid.

Weren't you taught to show respect to others regardless of who they are and what they look like? That is having common decency.

Why would you perpetuate the cycle of hate that you criticize and are supposedly against? This makes no sense.

Now this sarcasm speaks volumes Given the Topic of this thread when a Muslim Family is being bullied just because of their dress which indicated their Religion ..not because of what they did particularly..BUT JUST because they were of a differing religion....I say this..because by saying the above indicates, that freedom of speech means it's hunky dory to verbally abuse and harass innocent folk because you can..I just shake my head and have read other posts by above poster indicating a rather unsettling tendency to blame/accuse/label anyone for anything IF they aren't just like yourself

Hate to mention..ALL of North America ( as is Europe) is populated by many who are not from ONE background but multi-ethnic backgrounds..and denial of that will not help..as Condi Rice use to say..Such comment's aren't helpful
