In this video, at 2:24, he can be seen standing on the back edge of the van, with the top of his head higher than the top of the van, then he ducked down to enter the van.
This is called being passive-aggressive. He is simply making it more difficult for the police to move him, because he doesn't want to be moved. Essentially, making a scene. It's a typical ploy that criminals (inmates) use when they don't want to do something. Think of your children when you have to drag them to their room. It's the same concept.

One thing is not at question; Baltimore PDs long history of brutalizing citizens and paying millions of dollars in court-ordered settlements to victims. Freddie Gray wasn't the first prisoner to get a cowboy ride in Charm City.

So in other words he was resisting arrest?

It's also a 'ploy' that people use when they have difficulty walking and you have no evidence- ZERO that he was not in fact already injured and having difficulty moving his legs.

I'm sorry that you don't understand the significance of Dr. Wecht's statements. He knows what the injuries were, so do you and I, that has been made public knowledge. He also knows what it would require to cause those injuries and he knows that from highly specialized training and conducting literally thousands of forensic autopsies and death investigations. It's a shame that you don't understand between expert opinion and your opinion. And dude, try as you will, you can't diminish his bonafides because this was on MSNBC

If Freddie got the "nickle ride", so should the offer guy in the wagon have suffered the same fate, but he's not harmed. He's not screaming about a rough ride. He's saying just the opposite. It's looking more and more like Freddie was trying to pull a fast one by banging himself up, trying to make the cops look brutal...but he slipped while handcuffed, hit his head, snapped his own neck and lost the game.
