A magazine called Vangardist is seeking to draw attention to HIV and AIDS with a provocative cover printed with ink containing HIV-positive blood.
The special edition of the magazine features stories of "HIV heroes" at a time when the editors say too many people have grown complacent about the disease.
Just the fact that some people would be afraid to touch it shows how ignorant people can be....I think it's a good idea....maybe it will raise more awareness about aids, though I kinda think that people who are still ignorant about this disease will probably always be so....unless of course they come down with it themselves.
I wouldn't touch it because I'd fear an infection (the virus is long dead at that stage/point), but because I think its weird, though I can appreciate the sentiment.
Sensational artistic weirdness. Yeah, sure, the virus (supposedly) wouldn't survive outside the body, blah blah... the same reason why HIV doesn't get transferred on toilet seats -- unless, as my high school biology teacher said, "someone would have to have a bleeding cut on their buttocks, and you would have to immediately sit on the toilet seat with a seeping sore in the exact same place..."
But that doesn't mean it's not gross, sick, whatever.
