Yuck!

Woman goes blind in her left eye because of her cat | fox4kc.com

Quote:
Without any warning signs, a woman in Ohio says she woke up and was blind in her left eye. For more than a month, doctors were puzzled until they discovered she owned a cat.

Then, they realized she had “cat scratch.” As the name suggests, it’s a bacteria passed along by cats and kittens through their saliva or even their fur.

Yeeks! My cat licks my eyelashes every time I try a new brand of eye makeup. Guess I shouldn't let her.

Cats' mouths are absolutely filthy. Much more bacteria and crap than dogs' mouths. It's unwise to let cats lick any orifices or broken skin.

What's scary is that human mouths are even worse!

I have cats; they don't lick my eyes, though one of our cats sometimes likes to sniff them early in the morning. DH's eyes, not mine. I wear an eye mask at night.

My sister has a chihuahua mix who likes to lick earholes and nostrils. <shudder>

Years ago my house caught fire and I passed out from all the smoke and my cat dragged me outside, gave me mouth to mouth and saved my life. He was awarded The Dickin's Medal, the highest award given to an animal and a lifetime supply of canned tuna. Does this story sound fishy ?
