Yuck! That lemonade looks like it contains no lemons at all!

I would be embarrassed to respond to this call...
I would have bought lemonade and had the entire shift respond to buy lemonade ... I would contact the fire department and have them respond to buy lemonade
Heck I'd get animal control and other city workers to respond
There's the letter and the spirit... with kids let's go with the spirit

I had a lemonade stand when I read a kid
Great memories

They are technically enforcing a law on the books but there's the law and there's common sense.

They can give away the lemonade and ask for donations. You know, there's the letter of the law and the spirit of the law. I would have bought a glass of lemonade. I think the Chief of Police is under pressure from a small town mayor or city manager.

I'm retired now but for twenty years I was chief of police of a small Cape Cod town. One of the kids decided to sell lemonade to raise funds for a charity. Cost me five bucks for a glass of lemonade (her "charge" was fifty cents) every time I saw her out there!

It would be so useful if common sense was used in these matters.

No kidding. The best stuff comes fresh from the farm.

Well maybe. I'd be willing to bet that it's the town "unofficial" code enforcer, or several of them.

You have no idea how big a pain in the ass people like that can be in a small town:

_________ grass is too high
_________ has too many cars (even if they're all registered and operating)
I saw____________ carrying a gun into his house (that got the SWAT team at my door, by the way)
That guy is sketchy. He's got that junk car, that long hair and beard, that chain link fence and those dogs(the guy in question is a retired Air Force General, the car is a late 50s Corvette he's restoring. The fence is the type most people in Town have)

There are a lot more from the same small group of people. I thought when some of them started dying a few years ago it would stop. The dead ones were just replaced by new people.

Had to rep you for that! With your line of work, you certainly have bigger fish to fry.

Didn't they circumvent the law by giving it away and having a Donations jar? Smart young ladies.

Instead of pursuing the permit, the girls will set up a new stand this Saturday, according to KLTV: free lemonade, donations welcome.
