Well, it was dumb bc he has no idea what actually happened. So making random "supportive statements" is silly.
I happen to agree with him.
I happen to think firing him was ridiculous.
If I understand correctly, people are upset because the principal was fired for expressing that he fully supports the actions of the rogue officer (who was forced to resign) by the Mckinnley police dept. The irony is, the chief of police stated that the officer behaved inappropriately.
I find it very interesting that many white people want to support the principal's freedom of speech, but they don't see that the white officer basically suppressed the young black's girl freedom of speech. The teen girl had not cursed him, she simply stated a fact, that she had the right to freedom of speech. The officer's reaction was to immediately slam her to the ground (face first), pull her hair, and kneel on her back - with his full body weight.
So which is it? Do you only support freedom of speech when it pertains to whites?
Were there financial incentives for him to improve the stats or did he just cheat to make himself look good?
I'm not even going to get into that here because it involves Trayvon Martin.
But I'm sure when you reduce crime committed by Black students by 60% in one year there must be some financial reward.
I always wonder what the other side of this story is?
Maybe the school board was trying to get rid of the guy anyway and this was the last straw.
Haven't heard of any protests on campus for him to get his job back, so you can infer that he wasn't too popular anyway.

Maybe those people are just not speaking out in fear that the social media mob will go after them and get them fired.
More truth than sarcasm in that statement.
You got that other teacher in Lubbock that just got fired.
Teaching elementary for 20 years..16 at that school.
No one speaking out trying to get her rehired.
I don't think you are aware what free speech actually means, which is essentially that you are free from persecution by THE STATE, and the state only.
Do you know what it means? What do you imply by THE STATE? What is enumerated in the US Constitution applies to all fifty states, not just one. Each state has it's constitution but what is enumerated in the US Constitution trumps state constitution. The key word is enumerated. Every amendment in the bill of rights applies to all citizens of the USA. The 10th amendment plainly says what isn't enumerated withing the US Constitution belongs to the individual states. Education and health care are two good examples.

This should make republicans happy. They love to claim that it being so hard to fire teachers is why some schools are in a sorry state.
