I think it was just a bad choice of words, but let's milk this one for everything it is worth since increasing the divide in our civil society is more important than actual problems with the word today.
I disagree. I like CNN, but they constantly trying to shape public opinion in the way they report the news, which makes them a perfectly legitimate target when their people go to far.

Not to rain on people's parades here, but in the context she used the word it was technically correct.

brave - definition of brave by The Free Dictionary

Despite common misconception, one's intentions do not have to be pure and good to be brave. You can be evil and brave as well.

The shooter's mother was the brave one. She said she was thankful that no police were hurt. His father did not blame the police either. The father said that his son had lost custody of a son and blamed the police, but he tried to tell him that the police were only doing their job.

Yeah, he was pretty brave indeed. The police are committing way too many abuses and are getting away with it.

Thanks to #44 who out of the gate has shown how anti-cop he is, has certainly created some "fundamental change" in America. He's juiced up the cop-hating mobs and legal idiots like Holder and the Baltimore persecutor.

Anchors--don't call them journalists or reporters, because they are neither--typically don't know squat about squat outside of what happens in their cloistered world and the neighborhood they live in or the crowd they run with.

"Automatic weapons fire" is something I heard again and again, at FOX and CNN and the local yokel news. Yet viewing the video, there are many separate shots indicating the guy was toting a semi-auto. Is there a difference?
Only if your know or care about facts.

On the face of it, this looks like suicide by cop. That he shot all over the building up to 6th floor windows, and that no cops were hit, indicates he wanted to get their attention. Or he was a very bad shot, or he was severely intoxicated.

"Armored van"? Not so sure about that. The van was funny looking. But the sniper round went through the front glass, that's not armor. That's glass.

This. Bravery is an ethically neutral concept, as is intelligence. Countless heinous acts throughout history have been planned and carried out with a great deal of skill and bravery. Should a police officer "acting in self-defense" shoot an unarmed teenager or a knife-wielding psych case, they're nonetheless considered "brave" simply because they wear a badge. Placing a value judgment on neutral concepts is the underpinning of jingoism, xenophobia and ultimately hate and lack of understanding: Everything our side does is courageous; everything theirs does is cowardly. Fredricka Whitfield should explain herself in these terms, but instead she'll be cowed by the mob.

If a guy walks up to a bikers' club and knocks over the bikes on stands like dominoes, and waits for the bikers to come out . . . . . the bikers would agree that the fool is courageous and brave. And dumb. And dead.

Only took a 15th. Post to blame "Obama"! I wonder what you will do when Miss Hillary is elected.
Stop shooting at UnArmed minorities and maybe they won't shoot back! Remember the "Second" Amendment works both ways!

I saw that clip. That was a shocking thing for her to say. It's SO shocking that I THINK what she meant by that was....."ballsy." To go right up to a P.D. headquarters and shoot at it, knowing it's filled with armed police officers was a ballsy, if insane, thing to do. Giving her the benfit of the doubt. At least I hope that's what she meant.
