Some additional information in the NY Post:

Quote:
Subway sandwich pitchman Jared Fogle said numerous times in the past that he thought “middle school girls are hot,” according to the Florida woman who tipped off federal investigators.

“They weren’t jokes,” the unidentified Suncoast resident told an ABC affiliate in Sarasota. “They were very serious.”

The woman — a TV journalist who spent extensive time with the “Subway guy” during promotional events in Sarasota over the last decade — said she was so disgusted by Fogle’s comments that she immediately called the FBI, sparking a raid at his home on Tuesday. Continued . . .

Agree. But also a innocent person shouldn't let his lawyer do all the talking in front a cameraman that is just looking for a quick comment.

Jared could have given a quick 2 second statement to the cameraman before getting in his lawyer's car.

Plus it seems like his wife should have picked him up and not the lawyer.

A true wife would have been there to take hubby to lawyer while telling the press to go ph#ck themselves.

But this secrecy is somewhat telling.

How can you advocate SUBWAY but not your innocence?

Come on.

I think they have two small kids. It's tough to arrange an emergency babysitter under these circumstances, no?

Sorry, it seemed like an equally idiotic response to the paranoid post trying to find some nefarious meaning behind her not picking him up. There could be several reasons, but some aren't happy unless they create a fairy tale version of what they've read.

Speaking in this scenario can only harm you in a legal issue. I find the public opinion on this odd and highly misinformed. There is zero benefit for him to speak publicly from a legal prospective no matter his guilt or innocence

ok.. That's very, very concerning. Makes you wonder if the guy who ran the "Countdown to 18" site for Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen (remember that one?) would get raided for that.

He said it numerous times, apparently.. She 'immediately' called the FBI and a raid was done now.. Timeline still seems odd here.

What could be said, that wasn't pretty much a flat out admission of guilt, that would cause a raid? In my mind, they better have him on tape saying that he collected tapes of girls under 18 having sex.. Because anything else, this seems to be treading on the 'thought police' realm..

But, as to the other person, about him not speaking to the media.. That's pretty much Lawyer 101.. Shut up.. If you start smacking the investigators around in the press, they might want to get even with you. I can't blame him for the silence, guilty or innocent.

I won't be able to eat a 5 dollar foot long while browsing Barely Legal ever again. Thanks a lot, Jared.
