Blame the uber-wealthy and the Supreme Court. Now that the uber-wealthy control our elections we're at their mercy. People like Rand Paul and Bernie Sanders stand no chance because they can't get the support of billionaires.

Democrats have gone AWOL on the American worker and are now favoring illegal aliens.
Unlike Republicans? Reagan gave millions of illegal immigrants amnesty and every Republican president since Nixon has signed legislation that makes it easier and more appealing to send jobs overseas. Both parties are soft on immigration and preserving the American workforce, it's just that the Republicans pretend to hate illegals because their base is too stupid to know any better.

I agree sadly no one wants to think outside the box most only see the two choices & tend to stick with them.

I would agree with Jeb, if he was talking about people who are stuck in parttime jobs because their employers only want to offer such precarious employment.

Come on now. Both parties are to blame and you know it. I don't believe for one second that the majority of companies who turned their back on our country are run by liberal boards of directors, CEOs etc.

This is a dude that makes more giving a speech than most make working all year full time.

He made his money legally and he makes the point that he pays a lot of taxes...but still..

I'm not sure why he's telling Americans to work more though, if he really wanted to help people he'd be telling them to not work for someone else but start businesses like he did.
Of course he'll never do that. No politician will.

_____
Bush’s income jumped from $261,000 in 2006, his final year as governor, to more than $2.2 million in 2007. Then, from 2010 through 2013, tax returns released Tuesday show his annual income exploded from $3.2 million to nearly $7.4 million. (He got an extension until Oct. 15 to file his 2014 return.)

The vast majority of income came from consulting and speaking fees, where Bush earned between $40,000 and $75,000 apiece for dozens of appearances before business and trade groups, colleges, and organizations ranging from The Salvation Army to a South Korean defense contractor.

He's part of the group that games the system for his own benefit. Were his actions "legal"? Probably. Were they ethical? I'm going with no.
