Those whom perform criminal like should not have weapons but inevitably they get them any way .
So do you think that if terrorists have them they wouldn't bomb their own people here in the US ?
Think again.
The best solution to this would be to find a way to keep guns out of the hands of criminals. Making gun laws stricter doesn't seem to do much good. Criminals don't usually follow laws to begin with, meaning that they will always find a way to get them, legally or illegally.
Having stricter gun laws can also be counter-productive because it makes it harder for regular citizens to get guns and have no way to defend themselves and hope they don't get robbed or shot or something on the streets.
If there was a crime, ranging from an armed robbery in a store, or a mass shooting, then a citizen with a gun could use it as self-defense and hold them off for a while, at least until police arrived. If it was easy to get a gun (with a permit, and a background check, of course) then some of these major tragic crimes in recent years could have been avoided or at least reduced.
Or we can just let those of the law abiding who choose to own guns own guns while preventing convicted felons from owning guns?
That'll work just fine. Anyone convicted of a serious crime shouldn't be allowed to purchase a gun for about 10-20 years (some people do improve their acts later on in life even if they did something seriously wrong in the past).

Yeah, because people who are convicted of serious crime can legally purchase a gun at a local gun shop?
