Of course not. All I would have done was remove four screws and plopped the internals into the shipping box which would be no different that this clock.

WRONG. Those examples clearly illustrate the point that he did NOT build a clock.

She probably knew what a PITA his parents were and didn't want to have to deal with them.

The "arrestable offense" is due to zero tolerance rules that the left seems to love to embrace. These are the same rules that send kids home for wearing shirts with the American flag, suspend first graders for biting their pop tarts into the shape of a gun for sending girls who bring butter knives to school with their birthday cakes (in which the teacher first used to knife to cut and serve the cake before sending her to the principals office).

This kid didn't invent or build anything. He should actually be ashamed of his stupidity for making the claims he did.

Would you go on a worldwide tour claiming you invented said clock?

What this kid brought to school looked suspiciously like a bomb and many people would perceive it that way. It was not at all unreasonable for the school to be alarmed, regardless of his religion or ethnicity.

It was ridiculous to have the kid handcuffed and hauled away. However, you have to wonder whether he was gaming the system and hoping to create an incident that would make the teachers look mean and biased. He certainly wouldn't be the first teenager to do that.

It's now clear that what he brought was a disassembled commercial clock. That makes it even less likely that he was simply an innovative young fellow who wanted to show off his "new invention."

In my opinion the left looks foolish for immediately attributing this to islamophobia and hailing this lad as a hero.

Just hours after his meeting with Obama his family decided to leave the US and move to Qatar next week, where Ahmed was offered a full scholarship from Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development.

Now that he's headed back to the Middle East, he can learn to make clocks that are wired to cell phones that actually do something.
We'll probably hear of him blowing himself up in a few years. Daddy will be proud.

Glad he's leaving Irving. I'll bet his attorneys are disappointed.

Oh I thought the kid was so American, so apple pie just like all the other students at his Texas school, and that's why it was such a travesty that he was arrested. This family is nothing but a bunch of fraudsters.

He is going to further his "bomb making" skills. Good riddance. The school is going to be in for a surprise when they find out he is just a kid who likes to take things apart and not some genius with an aptitude for science. He will end up being sent to Iraq to be someone's "dancing boy".
