So, OP, what is this about? That a criminal does not follow laws? I can agree with that and so do millions of others....
I'm assuming you are referring to the thread I was blown away by the sheer number of firearms that this man had "collected". If you are asking me to make a "statement" it would be: Firearm owners, secure your property, don't make it easy for thieves to steal and convert into ( insert whatever you like here ). Of course criminals don't follow laws, hence the fact they are called criminals.
Not really, but I posted in this thread "just because."

In the sense that you say he "collected" is not the same thing a a person who collects guns. Do you understand the difference?

There are laws against stealing....maybe those that stole should listen, right?

And to be honest, are you saying there should be more laws or not?

There are plenty of laws covering gun ownership, state and federal. I don't think additional legislation or regulation will help. If guns were to suddenly disappear altogether, then non law abiding people would use the next best lethal item available
What are you saying? Eliminate all laws, so that stealing, drug dealing and gun running would no longer be a problem because it's not "illegal"? The person in the article, allegedly, created a marketplace for exchanging drugs for firearms. Period.
Perhaps this will help: the thread title, The Problem with gun control was rhetorical. I was making a point. Control being the key. I don't know if unfettered access is the answer but I don't know if government control is either. Sorry I didn't intend to create a political thread.
the thing about gun control, you could take all the guns off the street and then only the crooks would have guns, and still if you could close all the factory that make guns, people would start making guns in their garage, you cant take all the guns, you cant regulate all the guns.
its funny, only government wants your guns, I wonder why.
What if an individual had a collection totaling 1000 firearms;
The problem with that is that if an individual had a legit collection of firearms, the media would portray it as an arsenal if they were to face any sort of legal action for something.
The collection of antique firearms will sit in a safe for years and years and never even fire a shot...but the police and media will post pictures of it on FB and declare "another arsenal taken off the streets"
As if gang-bangers are touting mosin-nagants around on their drive-bys. It's just funny that when any gun is seized it's "taken off the streets".
