Yes I certainly blame the parents.

Usually the apple doesn't fall far from the tree so holding the parents responsible does nothing.

It is the parent's fault if their special snowflakes assault an officer. The parents should face punishment for their minor's actions.

Respect must be earned. It's not handed out like candy.

Maybe if cops started policing themselves, they'd earn some respect.

Obviously that police department needs to work on its community relations.

You must be joking. How about this it doesn't matter who you are you don't do what they did. Respect has nothing to do with intentionally assaulting cops who are trying to protect people!

This has nothing to do with race. This is a thread about the complete lack of respect that these kids exhibited that day.

I don't think you realize what kind of day a real, respectable and honest cop has to go through. Of course corruption is everywhere and it is mostly seen in publicly active roles such as police officers. But that is no reason to suggest even the honest and good ones need to earn respect. For those types of cops, respect is earned by putting on the badge, serving and protecting while remaining ethical and at the same level of law abidingness as everyone else. The sad thing is that the good hardly ever gets noticed to commend, so the negative is what mostly shows. Unfortunately with a world that seems to breed more and more disrespectful kids that let nothing other than their hormones and support of piers instigate and propel drama (never thinking of the consequences), it leads cops to react the ways they do. Hence the golden rule is diminishing. Kids like that won't be happy until all of the world drops down to their devalued ideology because they simply don't care if the world burns. Everyone wants to be "hard" these days. Sad world we live in.
