They just showed where one of the explosions happend and it was by the baggage check/checkin area than the security line. I've been to that airport a number of times and the level of security is much higher than other airports but I'm not sure how much you really can do after a certain point. There are still areas of exposure no matter what you do

Happened to be watching CNN when this story broke and have had it on for the past hour, and everyone they've been speaking to has been discussing how secure this airport is. Apparently, it's the 3rd busiest in Europe, behind London and Paris, and caters to a very large and diverse population traveling to/from both Europe and the Middle East.

From what they've been reporting, the gunfire came from Police trying to take down the two people before they were able to detonate their explosive devices.

If Obama had just said 'Radical Islamists" 3 times, it would have prevented this from happening.

No, but if this Administration hasn't done things like completely scrub the Muslim terrorist list, things like this could be more preventable. At least acknowledge your enemy.

Step 1, Identify enemy

Interestingly, the Turkish MIT (their CIA) and the Turkish National Police have just rolled up two ISIS cells, arresting something like 27 terrorists.

Makes me wonder if this was a Brussels-like operation where a few remaining terrorists still at large go ahead and quickly execute an attack before their arrested brethren give them up.

28 dead is not a grenade attack. That's a multiple suicide bomb attack.

This is Turkey's punishment for shooting down a Russian plane fighting ISIS and for buying ISIS oil.
