Yep, that's Utah for ya. Cultural center of the ass-end of nowhere and it shows.

But we invented fry sauce so it's not all bad I guess.

I wonder if that school library stocks National Geographic Magazines. I was about 7 years old when I first saw photos of topless ladies in that publication.

Even if the teacher was following the school's curriculum, it might not have told him the exact pictures to use. I would think even on the lesson plan, the teacher would not be very spacific, just stating that the art boxes would be used.

I often use pictures in my lessons, especially with vocab words. Ive never included in my lesson plans the exact pictures I'm using.

Yes, and parents/guardians have to sign a permission slip allowing their child to participate in that class. They are given the choice of whether or not they want their child to hear/see that type of information.

I'm a little concerned with a 5th grade boy who becomes upset seeing female nipples. It sounds like there is some disagreement with what actually was said, about being mature in viewing art.

There's always more to the story.

And, again, in this article, he said he "had no idea" nudes were among the artwork in the collection. Yet he told the class, beforehand, that some of them might be uncomfortable.

Also, I thought this was a lesson about the "use of colors." The comment to the boy about "nipples" as pretty odd. These kids are 10 and 11. They're going to "snicker."

Bottom line (so far): He knew what he was passing out, and he knew that there'd be at least some snickering.

And I think he wanted to talk about nipples.

Hey, I know someone whose 14 year old daughter is facing pedophilia charges because she had a video on her phone showing her twin 3 year old sisters playing in the pool with no clothes. There is more behind the charge, they are trying to get her to come clean about some rape charges her boyfriend is being accused of, so they are using this against her to get her to testify. But either way, in this day and age, one can never be too careful.

Contemporary standards can surely be confusing at times...

- Take a picture of your toddlers playing in a bubble bath? Sexual predator.
- Show kids historical works of art? Sexual predator.
- Kiss the freshman girl you took to prom? Sexual predator.
- Pee in the bushes? Sexual predator.

- Rape an unconscious coed behind a dumpster? Slap on the wrist because prison may be traumatizing to a scrawny college boy.
- Rape a child, but receive a standing ovation from Hollywood's Elite? Roman Polanski.
- Grope, groom, and kiss prepubescent children on national television? Former Vice President Joe Biden.
- Brag about forcibly kissing and grabbing random women by the crotch with impunity? Current POTUS Donald Trump.

How and when did the creepiest behaviors somehow become the most benign, and vice versa?

Largely because people have been conditioned to think this way, it didnt just happen by coincidence.

Tv shows and movies are tools used in mass conditioning, they can literally manipulate and change public opinion very effectively.
