Sloppy writing by the reporter. I took it to mean that while some nutcase was flinging poo all around, someone else named Steve Cho was waiting for a flight to Incheon. I assumed that the next paragraph would describe Steve's reaction to witnessing the bizarre behavior. Come to read the full article and it turns out that Steve Cho was the nutcase in question.
The reason this caught my eye is that I have a friend by that name. Luckily, it's not the same guy.
With hoards of aging sex pats flooding the country I'm surprised something like this doesn't happen every day. The pharmaceutical companies who produce erectile dysfunction drugs must make a fortune in third world Asian countries.
I always thought it was pronounced phonetically: "foo-ket." And it's a short distance from there to the thing we say when we're disgusted with failing at some task and just give up on it altogether.
So Phuket is really "poo-kait"? Now I know.
Can't say I've ever had a burning desire to go there. Not being into beaches, or sex tourism, or poo-flinging, I really don't see anything there that would appeal to me.
My estimation is that the guy took illegal drugs and tried to lie his way out by blaming it on "viagra" so he wouldn't get some sort of felony charge.
