If a city lawmaker has his way, smoking and walking will soon be outlawed on city streets.

That’s the bill Councilman Peter Koo proposed on Thursday. If it passes, offenders would have to pay a $50 fine.

Dang, misleading title. For a minute there I thought some looney toons politician was trying to really make a name for himself by banning walking. Not nearly as dramatic to ban smoking while walking.

I don't live there, so no dog in this fight. But if they're going to ban anything (while walking) please let it be using a smart phone. That will save more injuries, and possible lives, than less smoke ever will.
