the serial cop-kallers know that usually socio-economic disadvantaged persons (which usually skew to minorities in major cities) dont have the capacity to defend themselves legally and catching a case can have ramifications for advancement in the future. also, putting a 9 year-old in the system could have psychological problems where he is exposed to be a problem teen in the future.
Looks like he was wearing a private school uniform. Does not look like a socio-economically disadvantaged family to me.
^ thanks, but my point was that the trend of caucasian persons calling the cops on black persons (for things like hanging out in starbucks; mowing a neighbors lawn; ...) is a discrimination tactic at using government resources to get undesirables wrapped up in the system so that they have to overcome barriers to resources that are normally easy to obtain.

It doesn't matter to me. He should not become a victim of false accusations.
I wanna play "Devil's Advocate" here.
The woman was touched by something. She incorrectly accused the boy of "groping". Should she have kept quite? Or should she have said something? Something, or someone touched her body without her consent (Word of the Day).
Let's say some kid did use his hand and grab her butt. Should she have said anything? Maybe she thought it was his bookbag. Maybe she didn't even notice it. Nobody really knew for sure until they went to the tape.
Haven't we learned anything in the last few months?
What if he was white? What if he was 18? What if she was black? What if it happened two weeks ago? What if, What if, What if....
And the BS excuse of "She's in New York, better get used to it", "She better not stand in line for Space Mountain" really isn't much different than "She shoulda hadn't worn that dress", "Go to a Frat party full of Stanford swimmers and what do you expect?". It's 2018. You can't touch people, on accident or on purpose without consequences.
In my state, a child under the age of 10 cannot be charged with a crime. So there's no point in calling the cops. Just deal with it. It would have been fine for her to say "hey, that's rude" and then leave it at that. But she chose to escalate the situation.
And made some really obscene gestures towards the boy which can be seen in the CCTV footage.
And the mommy says " no one wants to touch her flat ass " Lol.. Dont know why people want to react this much
