No they wouldn't lol Just look at most of the prosecutions that have happened as a result of teacher/student relationships. Most of the time a female teacher will get a lighter sentence than a male counterpart doing the same thing. Hardly the same way.

i dont really know how the prosecutions go. you would think that the courts would have to be consistent based on the law.
i thought the comment here was referring to the general public. i understand that people feel differently about male teachers banging female students vs female teachers banging male students but i think that the attitudes about how to handle those situations have changed and more people are more likely to feel they should be treated the same legally.
I don't disagree but she still shouldn't be prosecuted. These 17 and 18 year old are not helpless and are just as "guilty" as the adult in this matter.
Would you say the same if the teacher was a man and the 17 year old girl was your daughter?
Fire her, sure, but prison time? Registered sex offender? Seems extreme.
She possibly abused her position, and for that she should be fired, but if the dudes went into it consensually, I don't think she should be put behind bars for it.
The article is not clear regarding the "Unconstitutional" defense of the teacher whether it refers to the United States Constitution or the Constitution of the State of Georgia. The "equal protection" clause of the latter may provide the basis for such a claim.
There are far too many people here making moral, ethical, religious and other claims based on opinion when this is not a matter of opinion at all but one of law.

Sure...why would there be a difference? LOL
I had friends that were girls when i was in middle and high school, a couple of them had sex with adults in authority positions...in each case though, the teen girl was the aggressor/initiator...and one of those cases, the adult guy took it so hard when she broke it off, he was coming to her house claiming he was there to tutor her in math. It got crazy for awhile, he was telling everyone he was going to leave his wife and kids for this 15 yr old, who didnt give a damn about him and used him to get what she wanted...
I remember what it was like to be a teenager...If you are the parent of a teen girl, I bet you do not know how she really is (around her friends), looking back today, if the parents of the girls I knew...knew what they were up to, they would have disowned them on the spot! (but they didnt know...they thought their daughters were perfect little angels who did no wrong)...how wrong they were...one of those little angels, had been with over 100 partners by the time she turned 17.
