A man killed his wife in Texas while she was filming him with a shotgun and taunted him I heard. she was cheating on him and stole 120 thousand dollars from him to give to her lover. A all-female jury gave the man a 10-year sentence because it was considered a crime of passion.

I want to watch this trial but I have not found it online. does anyone know if it can be watched online?

he is eligible for parole in 5 years. I heard they insulted each other regularly.

His lawyers do not believe he will be paroled in 5 years.

what could cause the female jury to only give him 10 years?

I remember hearing a lawyer say you would think females would go harder on a man that murders than an another man but it's the opposite.

I wonder if the defense got to pick all those female jurors. Texas has a crime of passion law in its books and his defense lawyers said the juror ruled correctly according to the crime of passion law where a jury can give less time than the minimum if it meets the definition of crime of passion.

Sounds like they were perfect for each other. He probably forgot that shooting a gun at someone actually can kill her lol. He'll expect her to be waiting at home with his rot gut whisky and a six pack and Texas Toast and chicken fried steak when he gets out.

Have you spent much time in Texas? (Shotgun killing, domestic violence...Could easily happen to many of my neighbors, I've grown to expect it)

Short time in jail frees up more space for the frequent guests. And gets domestic violence people back out contributing to more crime.

Sounds too familiar. The weekend is coming, I expect to hear stray bullets wizz by. And a lot of screaming, fighting neighbors experiencing domestic violence. Buy your beer on Thursday, It will be sold out by Saturday. Keep plenty of ammunition laying around the house.

I clean up the beer cans along the road every Monday. Usually 2-3 30 gal trash bags full.

No I live in a state with strict gun laws . In my state I see nip bottles hard liquor all over the roads and sidewalks. They want to ban nip bottles in some towns.

The jurors hearing the complete story probably didn't like the victim. Given the chance to give the perp a lighter sentence under the law, they did.

By the looks of that guy he's not gonna make it ten years. Then again maybe prison life will get him in better shape. He can work out and find Jesus or something.

Here is an example a woman who killed her abusive boyfriend got 33 years in prison in 2013. Makes you wonder if there is a double standard.

Well, you should find some data on that because picking 2 anecdotal cases in different states is well....bad math.

The woman filming her husband shooting her was in Harris County, TX.

The example I gave was in Waco, Texas. Actually from September of 2023 not sure where I got 2013.

Not from two different states.
