Prosecute the parents. They're the ones who instilled or failed to instill the values and respect those kids acted on. The kids might or might not be salvageable. The parents? Probably not.
Probably only a momma around, daddy whoever he is is long gone.
Now they've got some cred in the hood, just give them time and they can go to prison which must be their common career goal.

At that age, parents are still largely responsible for their kids. A 12 year old robbing a bank is definitely the result of some seriously bad parenting, neglect, and/or both.
Or a culture that promotes it. Music, social media videos, etc. that glorifies this lifestyle.
Popular culture begins to have a significant influence on kids starting at about this age. Think back to your own youth and you will know it's true. This is the age when you start to think that your parents don't know anything anyway.
Add to that the fact that we have removed a lot of the "consequences" for behaviors such as this, case in point, the fact that they are even using a cutesy name like this for these kids. Bank robbery is serious business, especially if you are the teller involved. Nothing cute about it. This is societal and community decline.

I was listening to DMX, Eminem, some hardcore rap, and a bunch of crazy metal music back then (still do to a degree.)
I never once considered enacting anything that they rapped or sang about. I had a decent upbringing. Music and media in general is not to blame. Just like Manson was not responsible for Columbine.
Those kids knew they were doing wrong, no need to punish the parents.
I agree. Adult crime, adult time, no matter the age of the thug.
