I did more cleaning up today. This time it was the things growing on the fence in my side yard. I just realized you may not know what 100 acre woods is. We don't own 100 acres. I grew up on 100 acres until I was 10 years old and then we moved to a 50 acre farm closer to town. Our lot is just 1.25 acres and with the road right of way we end up mowing about 1.5 acres. We have a small hill on the far corner of our property that I tried to cover with Japanese Jupiters so we would not have to mow it. The Jupiters did not grow but everything else did and soon we had an animal haven. We left it that way, because the rabbits would live there and then come out and play. I could sit on my patio and watch the rabbits playing. This past Summer when dh had a stroke, I had to mow the lawn. You should have heard me scream when I am riding the lawn mower and a snake comes crawling out of a thicket. I then decided to make every place in the yard so I could see the ground. I am still working on it. I have eaten a lot today, but I worked hard too, so maybe it will even out. Now we have lots of birds and the possum still comes almost every night to steal our cats food. I watched him crawl on top of the patio table tonight. There was nothing there for him to eat so he left. That's the fattest possum I have ever seen.

How is dh doing since his stroke NCN? I'm going to have to get some tips from you how to get some of my plants ready for Spring. Green thumb I don't have.
