What's the norm in Dallas? Do they pick up thier clients at the clients' front door and dropped them off after showing houses or do the client show up at his office and go from there?

What if the client lives in South Dallas and the agent lives in North Dallas and the houses are located in North Dallas?

Mine picks me up at my door and drops me off at my door. She lives on the east side of Dallas and I live on the west.

I suspect it would depend on how demanding you want to be or how much the agent really has to do... other than for you.

If the agent and property are in north Dallas and you're in south Dallas I'd think you'd find a meeting place in north Dallas, or just at the first house and just keep moving both cars from house to house.

Or maybe you could have a limo written into your agreement <<< I suspect is not the norm.

I pick up relocating buyers at their hotel. Otherwise, I am not a taxi service and do not pick up my clients at their houses. They need to meet me at a convenient location to where we're looking. Sometimes that's my office. Sometimes it's a Starbucks. Sometimes it's a grocery store parking lot. We go in one car as there is no need driving two cars to each house with these gas prices.

If seeing a lot of homes, meeting at the agents office or another location central to the houses is normal. If just seeing a few, meeting at the houses and taking 2 cars.

Rare that an agent would provide door to door shuttling unless you live in same neighborhood as the homes you're visiting or you're relocating from out of town and are at a hotel or are unfamiliar with navigatig the area.

It is your choice to buy a home so the agent is absolutely not "expected" to provide door to door service for someone already in the Dallas area. What a waste of their time!

For many agents, especially women, this a serious safety issue. There have been many women realtors murdered or assaulted by fake 'clients' in the past few years.....three I happened to know - one in McKinney, one in Amarillo, one in Mississippi a few years ago. Realtors, including the men, are urged to proceed with caution, so please don't take it personally if your realtor hesitates or refuses to put you in his/her car and drive you all over town.

Isn't there an agreement (contract) and if the realtor is missing, one can easily track down this client.

People who live in DFW usually will meet me at my office especially the 1st time so we can talk and get to know each other. Beyond that it's whatever works for the 2 of you. I would not want to drive to south Dallas, show up north and return to the south. I'd do it if I had to but other options may be better.

Once I work with a client, we do whatever is needed to meet. If I only have 1 or 2 homes to see, I may meet them at one of the houses. I've met clients at some prearranged spot like a Mall that will be near our showings and they will ride with me in the car.

i usually like my clients riding with me so we can discuss their needs and I can educate them on the area. I've picked up and dropped off many an out of towner at hotels.

You do whatever is needed, in the most efficient way without abusing and hopefully not majorly inconveniencing either party.

Women need to be a lot more careful in meeting clients.

Tracking them down doesn't bring the victim back to life.......
