I'm curious if folks voted or are planning to vote for/against prop 1 and 2 in Dallas.

Prop 1 is to approve sale of beer/liquor in stores
Prop 2 is to approve sale of beer/liquor in restaurants

My wife and I both voted for these - it's about time Dallas gets rid of the old (and strange) boundaries of where some area are wet and some are dry - it's just strange.

Brian

I agree with you. I've been here 10 months and it is such a pain in the arse not being able to pick up a 6 pack with my groceries. I'm moving in a few weeks to an area where this is ok, though.

Default Election Results

Both wet/dry propositions passed in the city of Dallas by a substantial margin:

Proposition 1 (beer/wine): 66.2% For; 33.8% Against
Proposition 2 (mixed beverages): 73.1% For; 26.9% Against

Proposition 2 was pretty much supported citywide, according to this map. The outcome for Proposition 1 was divided with northern Dallas strongly supporting the measure and the southern sector largely opposed.

Similar ballot propositions passed here in Lancaster as well as University Park.

We may not agree on whether to vote Republican or Democrat -- but we like our booze.

Well it will be interesting to see if this will scatter and diminish some of the 'last stop liquor stores' around Garland Road/East Grand at the Spillway, Samuell Boulevard at Dolphin, Greenville at Meadow and West Lawther at Northwest Highway...

I was at a particular election watch party last night at the Palomar and there was plenty being consumed - you couldn't even get up to one of the several bars!

I doubt it will change these since prop 1 only addressed beer and wine sales.

LOL. So true! I voted yes on both. I live close enough to one grocery to get wine and beer with my groceries, but I prefer another grocery store where I can't. It makes no sense.
