I will probably visit both but, I am down to either The Texas Club or Baylor Tom Landry. If anyone can give a review on both I would appreciate it. I already visited Equinox and I didn't think it was worth the monthly membership fee.

Sorry, I have never been to those. Even though it is not as nice as the clubs you mentioned, I am a 24 Hour Fitness member. I just like them for the convenience i.e. open 24/7 and optional ALL club access.

The downtown Dallas YMCA is also really nice. http://www.tboonepickensymca.org

Landry Center is VERY nice, but it is NOT in downtown Dallas proper.

Haven't been to any of them, but I heard about "Trophy" (which used to be "Pulse"), and "Elevation", also 24 hour Fitness of course. Maybe you can try out different ones and decide which one to join. Gyms normally all offer a free day pass for you to try.

I am a member of Pulse/Trophy fitness. I am a big fan. Small, has all the machines you would need, and never crowded.

I heard about Trophy but, is that a gym you can use even if you don't want to hire a personal trainer? I ask because alot of smaller boutique type gyms almost require that their members utilize that service.

I worked at Texas Club for 11 years, so I am a little partial :-)
If you are looking for value, the downtown YMCA is worth the money
I also worked at Baylor for about 7 years. Baylor is super nice and has great classes if you're into that kind of thing. The layout does not move around good energy in my opinon.
The Texas CLub is really busy at the lunch hour, has great basketball at that time also. If you come early (before work) or late (after work) there will not be much waiting for equipment. I am still friends with all the staff there, so again, a little partial.

We were looking for a place downtown that had a pool, and it came down to Baylor vs YMCA. The Y recently had a great renovation, but we ended up choosing Baylor over the others for what they offered.
