I probably need to start a new thread but when you're talking about the village do you mean the villages? Where there are a bunch of different complexes (the gate, the dakota, etc)? I am thinking about relocating from ny and am also 35, single and Trying to find something under 900 (though I realize I might need to go up a little). I looked briefly this weekend and liked the villages but couldnt tell the median age. I also like the Knox Henderson area but was afraid it was too young.

Thanks for all the suggestions in this thread. May start my own shortly.

The apartments we are in are only 3 units shy of being 100% occupied. We are leaving early to move into a home so our kids can enroll in Allen schools. If you're interested, we are on the top floor (most desired), right next to White Rock lake and will need to sublet from mid-August (17th) through the month of September. You will need to sign your own lease after 9/30. The community is fantastic with a good mix of all ages, but the predominant demographic seems to be late 20's-mid 40's single professionals. Our unit is within your price range and this is one of the most sought after apartments for its proximity to the Lake, shopping, knox/henderson area, and downtown Dallas. IT is gated, well maintained, and quiet. Message me privately if interested.

As for the Villages, I was referring to the multitude of complexes between Lovers Lane & Northwest Hwy and Skillman & Greenville.

"Village" is correct. It is not the "Villages." I lived in The Village a couple of times - The Chase and The Park. While in the years past, it was known for being a twenty-something place to live right out of college, once complexes could no longer restrict children, the demographic started expanding. I referred to my building in the Chase as the Geriatric Wing. We had a few little old men, probably widowers. It's really a great place to live and Lincoln Properties really takes care of their tenants.

Is it just the contributers on city-data in Dallas or is Dallas itself?

And if it is not Dallas itself -- where do more single professionals without kids congregate location wise -- over 30 crowd. West coast has many professional singles over 40 and no one bats an eyelash.

I think you have your wires crossed. I'm 47 single and never had anyone come down on me for it. Most of my friends are single. They never have any issues?

You are definately getting some bad info or reading things the wrong way!
