Hi, I'm a young female relocating to Dallas from NC for a job and wanted to know if anyone knew anything about the Marquis at West Village property. Or really the Marquis properties in general, I know they also have the Marquis at Turtle Creek. I am 22 and don't really know anyone and really like the idea of being able to walk to things around me. Any other suggestions for apartment complexes? I'm having a really difficult time finding something that's available for my mid-September move.

I live in Uptown in Post Properties, they have a lot of apartment buildings in the uptown area including west village. Specifically I live in Post Uptown Village and my husband and I love it here. We really have no complaints, we are within walking distance to McKinney Ave and lots of places to eat. We're not far from a Trolley stop where we can ride down to West Village. It's quiet but still near everything we'd want. Let me know if you have any specific questions, I'd love to help!!

Also, I'm from South Carolina so I can identify with you! I moved here by myself back in January and in April my husband followed me out here. It was an adjustment but I definitely don't regret my decision to move here OR live in uptown.

We are friends with a couple that live in the Riviera West Village. They really like it and have been there over a year. We were impressed with their apartment/size quality for what they are paying.

As a bonus, you can walk to Albertsons, the West Village shops, and it is just a few hundred yards from the Katy Trail.

Do NOT live in any CWS owned property (Marquis at...). They are horrible.

While I can't comment on the Marquis properties, I can recommend the Monterrey. Dallas, TX Apartments - The Monterey by Windsor - Windsor Communities

Advantages:
Close to West Village, but not surrounded by the bars.
Very good maintenance (next day resolution of requests).
They handle packages and deliver into your apartment (w/permission).
Group personal training included in price.
They handle dry-cleaning pick-up and delivery into apartment (w/permission)
Pool & entertaining kitchens available
Close enough to DART

Cons:
Pricey
They over-state price on web site, you can negotiate down.

I have no affiliation except a happy resident. If you do decide to rent here, send me a PM and I can save us both some cash.
