I was curious if there is a River Walk type shopping area in that area?

The canal-based Las Colinas Urban Center is a step in that direction. It is not the equal of the San Antonio River Walk, however, but is an interesting walk.

whoever posted this ridiculous statement has obviously never stepped foot near the "las colinas urban center" canal system. there is nothing going on there and it is most definitely not an interesting walk.

Hello, Mr. Negative. Glad you could join us. I thought you left Texas 'cause it is horrible.

If Sicko says that The Urban Center is dead, then you can safely assume it looks like Times Square on a saturday night.

there is a fake river walk in the big hotel/convention center/mall called the Gaylord Texan. It's all indoors but pretty neat. There are a couple of nice restaurants in there. You can eat along that fake river walk. You may want to check out the Grapevine Mills mall while your out that way.

DFW is too busy growing outward to worry about nice urban amenities like the Riverwalk. There is one planned for the meanders area near the Hilton Anatole, whether it ever happens, who knows.
