Hi everybody. I'm looking for suggestions on where to purchase furniture for my apartment in Lakewood. I am currently in Michigan and won't be bringing any down when I move. Looking just for a place that sells couches and beds. Up here we have art van, etc.

Anything with websites would be preferred. Also, looking for good deals nothing too extravagant.

Thanks!

look on Craigslist for some great deals. Local chain is the Roomstore.....they deliver and have modest prices.

I grew up in Michigan and still have some furniture from Art Van!! A store similar to Art Van is Weir's. Location near Lakewood is on Knox at Travis. Plus they have a clearance center around the corner at Armstrong and Buena Vista.

No reason to limit yourself to Lakewood unless you are just planning to walk to the store. You are within 20-30 minute's drive of a HUGE variety of furniture stores. My recommendation would depend on your taste, but Weir's, RoomStore, or Ashley are good places with decent prices. Actually, I've found some of the best bargains at Dillard's. We bought a leather sectional for $1800 on sale after we had just seen the exact same thing, same brand, etc. at Haverty's for $4200.

There are also tons of boutiques and consignment stores in the East Dallas area if you don't want a home filled with stuff everyone else has- quite a few along Henderson Ave between Ross and 75 and some in nearby Deep Ellum, too.

If you do want what everyone else has, Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel, Restoration Hardware, etc are all on Knox Street by the already mentioned Weir's.

Thanks everyone! Yeah, I guess I shouldn't limit myself to just Lakewood. I was just trying to find some places online so I could get some price points and ideas on what I like. I am definitely going to go for the modern look.
