Howdy folks,

I hope this finds you all in the best of your health.
I was hoping all you experts wold be able to help a noob here.
I'm searching for a home builder who can build on my 6000 Sq Ft lot. I need it on around 3000+ Sq Ft. 4 BD / 4 BT. Im not sure where to start.

I have been told that Builders like Toll Borthers, Pulte and David Weekly are super expensive if they build on your lot so its usually better of you are using these builders for a mansion or if you can afford like $400 K something.

So I have come to a conclusion that in my case a small time builder who doesnt mind building on other people's lot would be better. Now I am having a hard time finding one....
How do I find one?
Do you know someone?
Any suggestions , directions advice is monumentally appreciated.
Sincerely,
King koopa

PS sorry for my totally super noob questions

Start with your local municipality and the Building Inspections Department to determine if they require builders to register with them before performing any builds in their jurisdiction. If so they can generally provide a list of those that have. If you can provide us the location (city at least) of the lot we can help point you to your local jurisdiction office.

You can also go to the NAHB WEB site at National Association of Home Builders and they have lists of builders, etc., that are NAHB members. If your jurisdiction requires builders to be registered and the builder is not then they will consider registering to build in your jurisdiction.

You can aso check the member list at the Dallas Builders Association located here Home Builders Association of Greater Dallas.

That should get you started and of course you can Google search to your hearts content and many will show in paid advertisements.

Tilson is a build on your lot home builder who has been in Texas for decades. They typically build on rural lots but have a good reputation. They build from smaller on up size wise.

Can you build a home this large on such a small lot ? Do you have set back requirements in the front & back ? Are you in the country and need a septic System ?

The city will have zoning and building requirements you need to check.

Contact Meyling Chow Pauri at Our Country Homes Our Country Homes - Our Country Homes She has been in the building industry for a very long time and is very knowledgeable. She can tell you the maximum size home you can put on the lot etc.

They build very nice homes at their price too at less than $100 a foot.
