Hi I'm new here and I am wondering about Carrollton and Farmers Branch neighborhoods.
I am looking in the under $100k price range, closer to $80k is better still as I am recently partially disabled and cannot afford more any time soon.

I was wondering if there are a lot of issues with car break ins, home break ins and such? I do not have any children so schools are not an issue, but I may have to move a disabled parent in with me in the next year or so..

I would also be open to other DFW areas similarly priced good quiet neighborhoods with reasonable access to stores and medical facilities.

Any information would be helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Will you need public transportation? Do you have a job to commute to?

This is a nice little community with pretty low crime rate, HOA fees are about $75 month and include watering & mowing front yards: 1904 Wilshire Dr Irving TX - Home For Sale and Real Estate Listing - MLS #11890194 - Realtor.com®

You might also like Hurst.

I can still drive and have transportation. But no I am not working much. I am trying to get some consulting work.
But that will be mostly done from home...

There's some sections of older homes in Hurst, Euless and Bedford that are well located for shopping, medical and also close to the TRE train station in your price range. Do a search on some realtor sites. I don't mean to start controversy here but I drive in the Farmer's Branch area a lot for dog rescue purposes. Lots of good neighborhoods there but in your price range I think you will do better further out in places like NE Tarrant county or Lewisville. However, if you think you will need DART bus, there are some convenient neighborhoods in Irving, too and you can sometimes find a gem (Beverly Oaks is really a great little pocket neighborhood) in your price range. There's great shopping and medical just about everywhere.

Also check out MLS#11906569, a very spacious 2 car garage condo in Quail Run if you can bear the thought of almost $500/mo HOA fees but they do include many features such as guarded entry, pool, exercise room, all landscaping & water and any painting, roofing and foundation repairs. This is a killer deal for the location in Las Colinas that is near public transportation -- bus stop right there & DART rail down the street, walking distance to groceries, and LC canals, etc.

Thanks for the info........But $500 for HOA is out of my reach. Due to my disability now I am trying to reduce my monthly debt.

Folks, remember you can't post names of realtors AND mortgage brokers. Send a DM.
