I am trying to buy a home in Coppell now but it is very hard.
When I go to see a home, I have to deal with multiple offers and try to win the bid.
My budget is 250 K .....any advice?? Thanks

It is extremely hard to buy a home in Coppell. Especially this time of year and in this price range. I've had many people go into temporary living and spend 6 months trying to get something in Coppell. They have not built a home in Coppell in your price range in probably 20 years.

Flower Mound is a decent alternative and where most people end up going. Those 75K people who live in FM started their search in Coppell.

Also an altenative is Valley Ranch but there is an extreme shortage and high prices there now also.

My advice... either go into temporary living and keep looking or look elsewhere.

Default Act fast....

We are going through the same....lost a lot of houses and a couple where we offered less than $1000 compared to the person who got the house (we know this because these houses would show up as pending status in CMAs)

I continuously keep looking for new listings (10 times a day) and as soon as one shows up go see it the same day and put an offer if you like it. We were quick enough to get a contract on a house we really liked. The house came on at 5 pm, we went to see it at 6.30 pm, sent the offer at 9 pm and the next morning we got it under contract, so act fast....

BTW our budget is in the same ball park....

Hope this helps...

Try looking in Grapevine, too. Lots more houses in your price range!

FWIW... I had a couple recently offer $15K over on a $225k home the day it hit the market. We did not get it.

Thanks everybody for your responses.
I like also Grapevine and Flower Mound but I heard that Coppell ISD is one of the best.
I work in Dallas downtown so I need to get a location close to the 35 or 114.

It's amazing the headache you're willing to put up with because you "heard" something.

If they were in Pending status, then you don't know what they are actually under contract for or what they closed for. Pending still only shows the asking price. More than likely, the other buyers were thousands different from yours because that's the market.

$250k in Coppell is going to be hard because you'll still have to go well over that asking price to get the house and you'll be over your price range.

It is one of the best loactions in DFW for people trying to get downtown. You might try Bedford, north of Hwy 183.
