Actually, it depends on your city and your trash provider. For example when we had Waste Management in Murphy, a carcass less than 15 lbs was considered the same "putresicble" waste as the aforementioned dirty diapers and rotting meat. I would definitely put in a bag that can be sealed though. For your own comfort until trash day.

How about just a shovel ?

Dig a small hole in your garden and give that sucker a proper burial.

Turn him into fertilizer.
