I just got a call from an engineer who told me that the problem was indeed on their end; an amplifier was having problems. He said they wouldn't have even checked it if I hadn't been such a pain in the butt calling them 2-3 times a day for four days straight.

In this case I suppose persistence paid off. It's all better now.

Was this the issue I had said sounded like an amplifier issue?
