I am a Masters holder in Electrical Engineering from the University at Buffalo. Recently ( around 6 months ago ) , I moved to Dallas. IA career in Engineering doesn't interest me much and I want to shift to management side. I am planning to do MBA in Dallas. What are the best schools for MBA around Dallas ?

SMU's Cox School of Business
UTD
TCU's Neeley School of Business

UTD is the most affordable of the 3.

I believe the program at UTD is fairly decent as well and much more affordable, but doesn't meet the same metrics ratings as the other two listed above.
UTD is literally ranked right next to SMU in the rankings and is 1/2 of the price. I would imagine the alumni network/connection is much stronger at SMU however.

In my opinion the very best MBA program in Dallas is the McCombs School of Business (UT) in Dallas. It would be the highest ranked MBA program that is offered here in Dallas. The program cost is similar to SMU. I've had several friends graduate from this MBA program and they all have had positive experiences.

I know several people who enrolled/completed the McCombs MBA weekend program and they thoroughly enjoyed it. I will have to admit however that SMU folks have an advantage of better networking above any other program in Dallas.

Personally, I'd say if you aren't going to attend a top 20 program you should save your money.

Well, if you are going by the US News rankings posted above, UT-Austin - McCombs is the only one in Texas worth the expense.

You know people say that a lot. Do you have any objective data or just guesswork?
