Anybody know doctors who do house calls in the DFW area?

I realize most of them don't accept insurance.

On a side note, if you were sick, how much would you be willing to pay to have a doctor come visit you at your house?

At first glance, I thought this said, "Doctor Who visits DFW" and I got really excited! But no, I don't know of any medical clinicians in the area who do house calls.

The only thing like that I am aware of is a Home-Healthcare nurse. There are several companies in the area that provide this service. I believe most of the patients are homebound, elderly or chronically ill.

Baylor has doctors who do house calls, but they are only for the elderly and maybe disabled.

In DFW, the only visiting MD's/DO's that I've found are for elderly and home bound care. THR and Baylor are the providers. From a productivity and payment perspective, and MD or DO would have an impossible time breaking even if they accepted insurance. A private practice would normally expect an internist or family medicine physician to see between 12 and 20 patients a day (new patient versus sick visit mix). If a physician is driving to see patients, the physician loses significant patient revenue opportunities due to drive time.

As to your other question, if I were sick I would not be willing to pay for a physician to come to my home. I prefer for my physician or midlevel provider to be in a setting where they can provide efficient care. My strep throat or sinus infection isn't so terrible I can't drive 6 minutes to the practice.

You can search for private doctors here: Concierge Medicine | Concierge Doctor | Private Healthcare| Private Medicine - AAPP.org

I think I'd be willing to pay $150 to have a doctor or even a PA make an office or home visit. I'm surprised this service isn't more popular.

This is our family doctor. I've never used him for home visit, but it says that he does them on the site.

My former PCP in Dallas transitioned his practice to "executive medicine." They do house calls but I imagine it'll cost you a pretty penny.

I used to live in California and there was a doctor out there who charged $75 for house calls. Thats the cheapest I have seen. Guess I didnt realize how spoiled I was.
