IMHO if they were truly religious they would live by the golden rule, "do unto others", and leave the judging and condemnating to GOD. Alot of them I believe have a rude awakening when their day comes.

Virtually all religions believe they theirs is the true path to God. I'm not a Christian but I have no problem that Christian theology says I am not going to Heaven. Why should that bother me? It's not like they singled me out personally for such judgement. We live in a country founded on freedom of religion, not freedom from religion. I just wish the same level of tolerance was displayed towards religious people by those who pride themselves on being tolerant of race/ethnicity/sexual orientation. Each of those groups have their own intolerant types (La Raza, Black Panthers, anti-hetero gays (ever hear heterosexuals referred to derogatorily as "breeders"? I have...) yet that doesn't mean they get dismissed as a whole. Same standards should apply to religious folks. I too think the whole I-35 thing seems kinda silly, but who I am to judge them? To each their own.

Most of it just has to do with the media not having anything else better to do than to "sensationalize" something unsensational.

Hopefully people who hate others because of their religion are the minority in Texas.
I never said I hated them, or any other religion. I just think its silly. don't you think you are over reacting a bit?

I wasn't bashing christians, merely laughing at a small group who have their own odd interpretation of something.

I don't think hyper-sensitive political correctness has anyplace on this forum.

You are entitled to your opinion, as am I to mine. And if defending small groups of odd Christians from people who "laugh" at them now counts as "political correctness," than I am guilty as charged.

you know, the most peaceful tolerant people I've have known have always been those who partake in herbal delights.

Funny, because I would say the same about the most unproductive and laziest people I have ever met. I would also include people who say, "dude" alot in that category.

People who don't know how to speak English and use don't for doesn't or can't state an opinion intelligently without saying something stupid or using curse words cover the state of Texas much more than do the delightfully religious.

That was a pretty ignorant post you just made. People are looking for a higher quality of life and if that means they can get a decent job and a home that doesnt cost a fortune then whats wrong with that?
