I am selling my home in Richardson and planning to move to Melissa for more space and newer construction. I know I have to drive to McKinney for everything but that's okay since I work there.

I don't have any children, nor planning to have any with a 200k budget. What neighborhood would you recommend? Hunters ridge? Trails of Melissa? Liberty?

Will there be any plan for grocery stores or restaurants? I also want to know a little bit about the rental market in case I want to rent it out sometime down the road. Thanks for any contribution!

I'm not sure you're going to find much more space out there. We recently vivisited some friends that just finished their build in Melissa. Although the house was pretty, the lots were fairly small.

Your yard will probably be smaller in Melissa. But if you want new construction for under $200k, you'll have to go pretty far out to get it.

I'm sure as DFW romps ever northward, eventually Melissa will have more retail options.
